January 28 in the Leuven Brabanthal in Belgium you can attend the free breakfast seminar on brand activation and sport, which will be given by Nik Schotsmans of Sportizon. Isn't it nice to be inspired in the year in which, among other things, the European Football Championship and the Olympic Summer Games take place in Tokyo? Brand activation is all about story telling
Nik Schotsmans is brand activation director at sportmarketing agency Sportizon.
The last fifteen years, sport sponsoring has evolved greatly. “Sportmarketing had to re-invent itself”, says Schotsmans. Sponsoring used to be the placement of flags next to an event, where product placement/sampling took place. Then the agencies had to adept to the internet. Sponsors asked for online activation of their brand. Nowadays a sportsmarketing agency has to look to the values of a company and a brand and tell a story that matches that values. The promotional product you use should make that story stronger.
